AC Goes Après Ski
With this year’s ski season in full flow, AC Party Planner Eva Berntsson spent many fun hours creating an après ski party for our client, Price Forbes at Westminster Boating Base. She told me, ‘This is such a brilliant location and a blank canvas to create something really fun. Being Swedish I love anything snow related and the client wanted us to inject as much fun as possible, so it was a dream job’.
Our team quickly stepped it to transform the space.
The guests arrived from the river and entered the venue along a walkway lit with tiny fairy lights.
There were cosy spaces to snuggle up and rest weary feet whilst watching the boats go by.
The aroma of fir trees filled the air, lights twinkled, snow gleamed, comfy après ski nooks waited for people to relax in them. There were throws and bobble hats to keep guests warm and energetic podium dancers to heat them up a little more. Canapé trays were given an ‘uphill edge’ by The AC’s highly creative Grace Curran and Head Chef Andy Ritchie and the smell of delicious street food and bowls, not to mention the obligatory fondue, encouraged guests to partake in ski-style drinking games. Then it was dancing until the early hours when coaches came to take the revelers home.
We were supported in the realisation of our ideas by a team of fantastic suppliers, Pinstripes and Peoniesinstalled huge displays of aromatic firs and twinkling lights, the highly entertaining Sharkey and George, usually known for kids parties went ‘off piste’ (sorry) and provided après ski games, while Young Guns provided the incredibly professional DJ, live band and dancers.
